Scarlett James opens up for the Pinup Saints in Toronto
On August 6th, 2009, the PINUP SAINTS will perform live in concert at the Tattoo Rock Parlour to celebrate the Toronto launch of their debut album, GOLDEN. The album is filled with raunchy electro glam rock songs to make people get up and dance, in the vein of the Sohodolls and the Ting Tings.
In addition, the Pinup Saints have asked our very own, Scarlett James, to open up for the band. This is the first time the Pinup Saints and Scarlett James collaborate on a project of this magnitude. Scarlett James will bring her retro burlesque glamour, a perfect compliment to the Pinup Saints daring show.
Monde Osé was first introduced to the Pinup Saints at the second edition of the Bal Érotique (2007) and then again, when we helped produce their first full length stage show at the Corona Theatre in February 2008.
The Pinup Saints were the only independent band without a major label deal to be invited to perform at the 2009 Canada Day celebrations on Parliament Hill, in Ottawa, sharing the stage with music legends and hot current acts such as Sarah McLachlan and K’Naan. The Pinup Saints’ song HALO (no relation to Beyoncé’s hit) was first heard internationally in November 2008 when Nico Archambault, used it for one of his defining solos on the way to winning the first edition of CTV’s hit show So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Nico is Pinup Saints’ co-choreographer along with his fiancé Wynn Holmes and will be performing with the band at the Tattoo Rock Parlour.
In preparation for their first Toronto show, the Pinup Saints have rocked stages in Montreal, Calgary, Saskatoon, London, Ottawa and Vancouver to rave reviews. Their Golden album, with all songs performed by Wynn and music producer Raul, is inspired by their real-life erotic adventures and is available now on iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster and Amazon MP3. Exclusively at their live shows, fans may obtain their copy of the album in a form of a coded G-string.
Fans and media are hereby invited to see and hear one of the most unique and original independent music acts in Canada today.
